WUTH Charity has provided the Wirral Stroke Service with a range of smaller items, such as: a music system to support music therapy; jigsaw puzzles to support hand-eye co-ordination and sequencing tasks; and therapy putty, which helps to improve grip strength and dexterity through ‘resistive’ exercises

The Trust’s Neonatal Unit cares for some of the smallest and weakest babies in the North West region, including babies from 23 weeks onwards, sometimes weighing as little as 500g. The availability of modern monitoring equipment is central to this service.

The Trust’s Respiratory Medicine Department provides respiratory care for a wide range of chest and lung conditions. In 2016/17, WUTH Charity’s respiratory funds benefitted from a significant donation, which was promptly spent on respiratory equipment, including a ventilator (shown below), associated equipment and a number of carbon monoxide (CO) monitors for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
