Gifts in wills do more for our hospitals than any other kind of support. Once you have provided for your family and friends, a gift to our hospitals will make a lasting difference for generations to come. It is a special way of saying thank-you for the care and treatment you or a loved one have received, or simply because you want to make a difference to patients and their families in the future.
Every gift in every will, however large or small, improves patient care and is an amazing way to continue your support long into the future.
We support both Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals within Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, so your gift to WUTH Charity will be used where the need and the impact is greatest.
Whether you already have a will or are writing one for the first time, leaving a gift to WUTH Charity is easy to arrange. Below is some information to help you through the process.
Use a solicitor
When writing your will, we recommend you use a solicitor to make sure your wishes are clear and understandable.
Types of gifts
Gifts can be large or small – you do not have to be wealthy to be able to make a difference to patient care in our hospitals. We are so grateful for every gift we receive.
These are the types of gifts you can choose to leave in your will:
Once you have provided for your loved ones, you may wish to leave a percentage of your estate to our hospitals.
You may wish to specify a fixed sum of money to leave to our hospitals, which can be 'index-linked' so the value is maintained in line with inflation.
A valuable item such as artwork, a ring or a house can be bequeathed.
Making changes to your existing will
You can add a gift to your existing will at any time, via a codicil. This is a legally valid addition to a will, used to make specific changes or amendments, whilst leaving the rest unchanged.
Again, we recommend using a solicitor who can advise you or write a codicil on your behalf.
Let us know if you've made a legacy gift
If you decide to leave us a gift in your will, please let us know so that we can thank you and keep you up to date with how other legacy income is improving patient care, if you wish.
